The EIT Health Accelerator creates an ecosystem where innovation can thrive. It gathers the best and brightest health industry entrepreneurs, and provides them with the support, skills and services that they need to get their ideas off the ground and into the market. Our three activity lines help entrepreneurs to:

  • INCUBATE their ideas, with programmes for not-yet entrepreneurs or scientists wanting to develop start-ups.
  • VALIDATE their concepts, with programmes focus on testing and adapting your products and services.
  • SCALE their businesses, with programmes that expand your business plans and support successful market entry within Europe and abroad.

LaunchLab

A two-month pressure cooker taking place in Delft Netherlands, for not-yet entrepreneurs from all over Europe to support them in developing and validating their health tech idea, developing marketing potential, launching to customers and creating the business model.

Who can apply: Master’s students, graduates, scientists and young professionals working on ideas in medical technology, biotechnology and scalable eHealth
Eligible regions: Seeking applicants from all over Europe who are willing to travel to Netherlands for 2 months

CaixaImpulse

An intensive acceleration programme for the creation of new products and companies in the health and life sciences sector. This programme is meant to start the translation of health research projects into a market product.

Who can apply: A consortium that is led by a Spanish or Portuguese institution. Project Leaders must be a legal individual with tertiary qualifications (university graduee, professor or doctor)

I-INTEGRATE

A programme started in January 2017 and will provide the structure and mechanisms for the partner institutions and startups to find their way more effectively with EIT Health’s network. Partners will have clear visibility of the startups in contact with EIT Health, and will help them to get closer and to work better with them. Startups will also find easier access to companies of their interest.

Living Labs and Test Beds

This activity offers entrepreneurs the services of a network of Living Labs and/or Test Beds, which can support the innovation process in validation-related aspects throughout the different phases of the value chain (ideation, co-creation, validation and scale-up), with the final goal of enhancing the development of fully market-ready products with high added value and a high probability of success.

Who can apply: European start-ups and SME projects that want to test and improve their product.

Market Coach Network

This activity fosters entrepreneurship and innovation projects from the EIT Health ecosystem by providing access to a network of market, business and innovation experts.

Point Lab

This activity promotes the use of data captured in large citizen and patient population cohorts, and biorepositories, to develop procedures, methods and techniques to make this intelligence available to entrepreneurs to boost their innovations. During 2017, this service will be implemented and become accessible for EIT Health startups.

EU Health MAPS

EU Health Maps will contribute to the adoption and diffusion of innovation into healthcare systems by providing expertise and a clear understanding of how, when and who to engage in the innovation process. The activity will also provide specific knowledge about finance and reimbursements schemes of 14 European countries. During 2017, this service will be implemented to be accessible for EIT Health startups.

Who can apply: Start-ups interested in gaining transparency on the innovation process.

Product and Market FIT

This programme provides European start-ups and scale-ups active in the health domain support and services, to find the right European market to launch or scale their product and/or to test and validate their product on technical, clinical, economical level in a B2B, B2C context.

Who can apply: Digital health companies (eHealth, mHealth, Clinical decision support, BigData and even Medtech, Lifetech and Biotech with a digital component) from all over Europe.

European Health Catapult

Formerly the Business Plan Aggregator, this joint accelerator programme of EIT Health and the Health Axis Europe that will award the best business plans in Medtech, Biotech and Digital Health.

Who can apply: Already incorporated micro and small enterprises (<50 employees), spin-offs and startups incorporated in Europe. Applications accepted from all over Europe. Start-ups can participate independent of geographical location but are required to locally attend events in the region they apply to: 1) Germany/Switzerland 2) France 3) Spain 4) Belgium/Netherlands 5) UK/ Ireland 6) Scandinavia 7) Innostars (Represent: Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Italy, Wales, Croatia are included in Innostar regions). Participants should be willingness to travel to the EIT Health Summit 2017 in London, where winners are awarded.

EIT Health Crowdfinancing Platform

Headstart and Proof of Concept Funding

This programme provides funding for emerging companies and SMEs to develop new products and services in areas of interest to EIT Health and its members. The purpose of the funding is to accelerate market entry and create new economic activity.

Who can apply: Start-ups that have a well-developed prototype and are ready to launch a product. Applications accepted from all over Europe, but you must apply in region you are based.

GoGlobal provides companies with the competence needed for growth and international expansion. It consists of two complementary programmes.
