Early-stage technology assessments help developers make better decisions. This training empowers healthcare start-ups in Central, Eastern and Southern European countries to conduct these assessments.

The Early Health Technology Assessment targets biotech, medtech and digital start-ups in the EIT Health RIS regions of Eastern, Central and Southern Europe. Participants are enabled to understand the necessity of an early stage technology assessment and given the skills needed to conduct such an assessment to support improved decision making in developing their businesses. Powered by EIT Health InnoStars, the programme consists of a webinar and a three-day online course.

Early Health Technology Assessment courses:

InnoStars webinar on Early Health Tech Assessment

EIT Health InnoStars held a webinar in September to explore the rationale of using early-phase technology assessment to help developers and investors make informed decisions about medical devices and digital health technologies, and to provide an overview on the methods used in such assessment. The webinar laid the groundwork for the upcoming three-day course.

InnoStars 3-day course on Early Health Tech Assessment

From 3-5 November 2020, Online:

EIT Health InnoStars will present a three-day course on Early Health Tech Assessment.

Early phase technology assessment is essential to validating pricing assumptions and business models prior to making significant investment – in money or time – to the development of medical devices and digital health technologies.

However, such assessment requires special skills in health economics, market research and related sciences. The three-day short course – in addition to providing insights to key theories – will introduce case studies for participants to develop technology assessment tools and apply them for strategic pricing, indication selection and go-no go decisions.
