PhD Programme in Biomedical Engineering and Health Systems
PhD students trained in biomedical engineering and entrepreneurship can drive improvements in healthcare. This unique programme gives students the tools to be healthcare entrepreneurs.
The PhD Programme in Biomedical Engineering and Health Systems (BEHealSy) is a collaboration between EIT Health academic and non-academic partners to create a new generation of doctoral students who have multidisciplinary research skills and are capable of translating research outcomes into innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives. A unique curriculum, jointly offered by several multinational industrial partners and world leading biomedical engineering universities, addresses the need for personalised solutions at all levels, from the cellular through organismic to systemic. Graduates of the BEHealSy PhD will be skilled as student-entrepreneurs, able to lead in the creation of new devices, services and professions for a healthier Europe. The learn-by-doing programme combines a strong scientific education, entrepreneurship training, innovation workshops and round tables, while offering mobility schemes tailored to the individual PhD candidate.
