Accelerating academic biomedical research
Helping PhD students and postdocs to address the most pressing unmet health needs in their research.
Catalyst Europe is a hands-on entrepreneurial training programme for PhD and postdoctoral students. The immersive programme uses a needs-based approach to accelerate the impact of their biomedical research.
It focuses on how to identify and evaluate unmet medical needs, build multi-professional teams to design solutions and plan R&D projects that show strong potential for healthcare impact.
A consortium of academic, industry and hospital partners train participants using a validated method developed by MIT that has obtained outstanding tech transfer ratios and produced a portfolio of transformational products.
The Catalyst programme will also focus on training European academic faculty members so that they can deliver the methodology from their universities.
