A journey towards innovations for better health

By trying to solve real challenges, learners can develop practical innovation skills. E-train participants build knowledge that can launch their journey as health innovation entrepreneurs.

E-train aims to offer a clear, attractive and guided path from basic know-how on entrepreneurship and innovation to practical skills of idea generation and processes for implementation. Through E-train, a multidisciplinary group of learners will gain the ability to work with need-based challenges provided by hospitals, the municipality and the local biotech industry.

E-train was first held in 2019, and for 2020 the programme builds on our past curriculum segments:

  1. “Health Innovation – an interdisciplinary approach”: a five-credit multidisciplinary evening course where the participants learn to create, develop, implement and pitch health innovations.
  2. “Health Innovation and Co-design in practice”: a five-credit summer school where interdisciplinary teams of course participants work in association with stakeholders, including target groups, to identify needs-based problems and develop innovative solutions to challenges with relevance to health, healthcare and quality of life.
  3. The “Greenhouse” seminar series: a series that includes seminars, workshops and pop-up events.

In addition, the 2020 programme will be designed to strengthen the end-user perspective by integrating citizens and patients in the activities.

Course dates and location

“Health Innovation and Co-design in practice” will take place 20 July-7 August 2020 in Uppsala, Sweden.
