In a strategic move to address pressing healthcare challenges in Germany, EIT Health Germany-Switzerland CLC GmbH officially partnered with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Integrierte Versorgung im Gesundheitswesen e. V. (DGIV). The decision, finalized during a recent Strategic Orientation Committee meeting, reflects the commitment of key figures, including Chad Floe, Prof. Jürgen Schüttler, and Managing Director Dr. Kurt Höller. The decision to join DGIV was preceded by discussions with Dr. Michael Meyer, who played a significant role in introducing DGIV to EIT Health, paving the way for a fruitful collaboration.
The new partnership strives to uphold a European viewpoint at the forefront of crucial healthcare issues, with a particular spotlight on the influence of the European Health Data Space on integrated care. Chad Floe (Supervisory Board Chairman) and Jürgen Schüttler (Supervisory Board Vice-Chairman) alongside Kurt Höller emphasized, “The target and focus of this new collaboration is to bring a European perspective to the most relevant and urgent challenges of healthcare in Germany. The huge impact of the European Health Data Space on integrated care was one of the main drivers to join forces.”
EIT Health Germany-Switzerland’s membership with DGIV signifies a strong commitment from both parties to overcome barriers to innovation in healthcare. By working together, the organizations aim to create a more resilient and dynamic European, and consequently German, healthcare system. Chad Floe expressed gratitude to key individuals, including Kurt Höller, Prof. Schüttler, and Michael Meyer, for their contributions to the preparatory discussions and the formulation of the cooperation’s key objectives. The collaboration with DGIV marks a significant step towards fostering innovation, overcoming cross-border barriers, and ultimately improving healthcare and enabling life-improving solutions.
