ASA Institute and EIT Health form a strategic partnership to boost research and innovation in Bosnia and Herzegovina

1st March 2024

ASA Institute, the main research and development institution of ASA Hospital, is the first institution from Bosnia and Herzegovina to sign a strategic partnership with EIT Health, a leading European consortium that promotes innovation in healthcare.

The basis of this cooperation is the adoption of the principle of the “Triple Triangle of Knowledge”, a concept that integrates expertise from the business sector, researchers and educational institutions to create a favourable environment for innovation and further development of the health and medicine segment.

We are very happy to be part of EIT Health network and actively work to improve healthcare innovations and provision in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Institutional collaborations will include knowledge exchange, resource sharing, funding opportunities and technology transfer, joint research projects and implementation of innovative solutions adapted to local needs. This partnership is another confirmation of our commitment to the mission of the ASA Institute, which aims to improve the health of the community by setting standards of excellence in biomedical education, research and health care,” said Daria Ler, director of the ASA Institute.

The partnership between organisations such as EIT Health, part of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union, and the ASA Institute aims to improve innovation in health and health services and health entrepreneurship and international cooperation in the region. It will facilitate the development and implementation of advanced research projects, enabling the development of new technologies, therapies and services to improve health care quality.

Our partnership with ASA Hospital exemplifies our commitment to fostering innovation and solving challenges in healthcare. Together, we aim to create lasting impact, and facilitate access to expertise and technologies, which will improve health infrastructure, patient care and medical education in Bosnia and Herzegowina,” – emphasized Zsolt Bubori, EIT Health InnoStars Ecosystem Lead for Hungary.
