Together for healthy lives in Austria

The innovation lab “HealthGateway.Austria” is a strategic project of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), the national funding agency for industrial research, development and innovation in Austria. Under the leadership of EIT Health Austria, the project is promoting the innovative capacity of Austrian companies and organisations in the field of life sciences by increasingly integrating companies, in particular SMEs and start-ups, existing Austrian networks and also research and educational institutions, into the initiatives and activities of EIT Health for an initial period of six years (2022 to 2028).

We use the expertise of more than 120 leading players in the European healthcare sector – pharmaceuticals, medical technology, diagnostics, consumer goods industry, universities and universities of applied sciences, research institutions, healthcare service providers as well as payers, politics and administration – to close the innovation gap in the life science sector. The goal is market-oriented research and rapid implementation of prototypes into market-ready products.

The HealthGateway.Austria project is funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), the Federal Ministry of Labour and Economic Affairs (BMAW), the Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection (BMSGPK) and the Vienna Business Agency.
