Medical innovation created in the regional community
On 5 – 8 July, Freshblood hosted a Citizen Toolkit Testing event titled 3 Zile de Sanatate (3 Days of Health), an annual event organised by the Young Doctors Organisation promoting healthcare and engaging the regional community.
The event took place in the Central Park Cluj-Napoca, Romania, which has over 15 000 visitors every day. More than 300 volunteers (doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nutritionists, psychologists, artists) were available to the public with medical advice and free medical examinations.
Through our Try-out Zone, the local start-up’s, MIRA Rehab, software platform was tried out by the general public.
The system, designed to make physiotherapy fun and convenient for patients (especially children) recovering from surgery or injury, transforms existing physical therapy exercises into video-game, and uses an external sensor (Kinect) to track and assess patient compliance.
There was strong interest and engagement from the public who were pleased to see examples of medical innovation created in the regional community.
We brought EIT Health’s values closer to the public, promoting innovation in healthcare and showing people that things are moving in a progressive direction in our ecosystem.
