Dans le contexte de crise sanitaire liée au COVID-19, EIT Health France est soucieux d’apporter des réponses concrètes et rapides pour déployer des initiatives ou solutions permettant de lutter contre les conséquences de cette crise majeure.
En soutenant la ligne C d’écoute gratuite, EIT Health aide une action citoyenne innovante partie d’un collectif de patients et de soignants qui écoute, informe et oriente des personnes vivant avec une maladie chronique ayant besoin de renseignements sur le COVID- 19 et s’engage ainsi dans la protection des patients 7j/7. Le lancement de la ligne a eu lieu le 27 Mars 2020 au niveau national.
En effet, Jean-Marc Bourez Directeur Général d’EIT Health France, craint« qu’à la difficulté de prendre en charge les patients atteints du COVID-19, ne s’ajoute une crise dans la prise en charge des patients atteints de maladies chroniques dont le suivi est une impérieuse nécessité pour éviter les hospitalisations liées à leur décompensation. »
En France, environ 15 millions de personnes sont atteintes par une ou plusieurs maladies chroniques avec des répercussions majeures dans la vie des patients. La ligne C a été créée pour répondre aux besoins identifiés des personnes vivant avec des maladies chroniques (diabète, cancers, maladies psychiatriques, insuffisance rénale, VIH…). L’objectif est de limiter l’engorgement du système de soins et de rassurer des patients confinés, qui sont noyés sous des informations contradictoires ou qui au contraire n’ont pas accès à l’information et de les orienter vers les associations ou fédérations compétentes en fonction de la pathologie du patient.
Le collectif est composé d’une cinquantaine de bénévoles, patients formés à l’écoute et soignants. L’enjeux est d’être à l’écoute de chaque personne, bien comprendre ses attentes, la rassurer et l’orienter vers des informations adaptées à sa pathologie chronique. Chaque appel est unique et nécessite la même exigence et le même engagement des écoutants. Si la situation est urgente, les appelants sont redirigés vers leur médecin traitant ou le 15.
Selon le Dr Albane Pariset, Patients and Citizen Officer chez EIT Health France « La crise sanitaire nous touche tous et les interrogations sont nombreuses et variées. Une personne souffrant de maladie chronique se pose ces mêmes questions auxquelles s’ajoutent des interrogations plus spécifiques liées à sa pathologie. Ces personnes ont un réel besoin d’être informées et orientées d’une manière la plus adaptée possible. Je suis fière qu’EIT Health France soutienne cette initiative citoyenne innovante et me donne l’opportunité de m’y engager ».

EIT Health France supports the initiative LA LIGNE C, 1st hotline on COVID-19 to help people living with a chronic condition
In the context of the health crisis linked to COVID-19, EIT Health France wants to provide quick responses in order to implement concrete initiatives addressing the consequences of this major pandemic.
By supporting the free hotline LINE C, EIT Health supports an innovative citizen action composed by a collective of patients and caregivers who listen, inform and refer people living with a chronic disease who need information about COVID-19 and thus commits to the protection of patients 7/7. The launch of the line took place on March 27, 2020 at the national level.
According to Jean-Marc Bourez, Managing Director of EIT Health France, “I am concerned that in addition to the difficulty of taking care of patients with COVID-19, a lack of daily monitoring of patients with chronic illnesses would increase their demand for health care in our already overcrowded hospitals. »
In France, approximately 15 million people are affected by one or more chronic diseases with major repercussions in the lives of patients. Line C was created to meet the needs of people living with chronic diseases (diabetes, cancer, psychiatric diseases, kidney failure, HIV, etc.). The objective is to limit the congestion of the healthcare system and to reassure patients who are confined, who are drowned in contradictory information or who, on the contrary, do not have access to information at all, and to direct them to the appropriate associations or federations according to the patient’s pathology.
The collective is made up of about fifty volunteers, patients trained to listen and caretakers. The challenge is to listen to each person, understand their expectations, reassure them and direct them towards information adapted to their chronic pathology. Each call is unique and requires the same high standards and the same commitment from the operators. If the situation is urgent, callers are redirected to their doctor or to the 15 (French emergency number for urgency medical callouts).
According to Dr. Albane Pariset, Patients and Citizen Officer at EIT Health France, “The health crisis affects us all and it forces us to ask for several questions. A person suffering from a chronic disease not only has many doubts about general Covid19 consequences, but also more specific questions related to his/her pathology. These people have a real need to be informed and oriented in the most appropriate way possible. I am proud that EIT Health France supports this innovative citizen initiative and gives me the opportunity to get involved.
