Doctor. One, a Polish start-up developing a platform for permanent medical care, and supported by EIT Health, announced an acquisition of Doctor Dok, an advanced AI framework designed to support the development of intelligent healthcare tools. While details of the integration remain under wraps, the acquisition signals Doctor. One’s ambition to build smarter systems that improve communication and support doctors in delivering proactive care.
Doctor. One is a Polish digital healthcare platform that provides continuous, relationship-driven care through ongoing and asynchronous communication between doctors and patients. By equipping healthcare professionals with a mobile app designed with them and for their needs, Doctor. One empowers doctors to manage care paths effectively, reducing their administrative burden and improving patient outcomes.
“Healthcare is built on empathic relationships, and healthcare professionals are at the heart of those relationships,” said Maciej Malenda, CEO of Doctor.One. “Our acquisition of Doctor Dok gives us the tools to make that relationship even stronger — smarter, faster, and more personal.”
Doctor. One’s approach is already making an impact: with over 320,000 micro-interactions between doctors and patients recorded to date, their model is redefining what it means to deliver continuous care. In a recent multiple sclerosis (MS) care program, 81% of doctors reported improved quality of care and better control over disease management, while achieving an exceptional NPS score of 93 — a remarkable level of satisfaction in healthcare technology.
To build on this momentum, Doctor. One is raising an investment round to accelerate product development, expand its team, and extend its services across Europe. The company is in advanced conversations to close partnerships in Spain, the UK, and Germany, underscoring its commitment to driving innovation in healthcare delivery.
In 2022, Doctor. One won the NephroHero competition, organised by the Warsaw Health Innovation Hub and EIT Health, securing a grant to design and test an app for the early diagnosis and treatment of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Nearly 500 individuals at risk of CKD participated in a patient screening conducted by the start-up. The results of the year-long project demonstrated the crucial role of the patient-doctor relationship in the effective management of chronic diseases.
“Winning the Nephrohero project, supported by EIT Health, opened a new path for us, leading to global partnerships with pharmaceutical companies. Now, we are excited to share our latest achievements,” said Maciej Malenda, CEO of Doctor.One. “With the acquisition of Doctor Dok and our ongoing fundraising round, we are taking the next step toward expanding our platform, scaling our impact across Europe, and further integrating AI-driven solutions to transform chronic care management.”
