6 start-ups participant au programme EIT Health Headstart 2020 se sont vu attribuer 10 000€ chacune pour renforcer le développement de leur projet.

En mai dernier, EIT Health France annonçait soutenir 16 start-ups dans le cadre de son programme EIT Health Headstart. Ce dernier permet aux start-ups d’accélérer l’accès au marché de leur produit grâce au soutien des « Business Creation Managers » d’EIT Health qui les aident à exploiter le réseau local et international d’EIT Health pendant un an, en complément d’une subvention de 40 000€.

Le 17 novembre 2020, six mois après le début de ce soutien, les start-ups ont présenté l’avancement de leurs projets à un jury. Sous la forme de pitchs avec sessions de questions-réponses, les start-ups avaient l’opportunité de convaincre les experts du jury de leur attribuer 10 000€ supplémentaires pour renforcer le développement de leur projet.

Les six start-ups qui vont bénéficier de ce complément de subvention sont :

Bioadhesive Ophthalmics : Bioadhesive Ophthalmics veut transformer l’ophtalmologie en soulageant les patients du fardeau de leurs maladies oculaires. Nous voulons changer radicalement la façon de traiter l’œil avec un insert d’hydrogel oculaire mucoadhésif qui libère des substances médicamenteuses sur une période d’une semaine, rendant ainsi leur action plus efficaces et plus puissants.

GRAPHEAL : En combinant de nouveaux matériaux électroniques, de l’électronique sans fil intégrée, de l’analyse de données logicielles et des technologies IoT du nuage médical, Grapheal se concentre sur une technologie portable pour surveiller la guérison et améliorer le traitement des plaies chroniques qui nécessitent des soins de longue durée, ce qui permettra d’éviter les amputations.

Lifebloom : un modèle durable de marche autonome et de rééducation accrue permettant aux patients de prendre leur vie en main pour remplacer le modèle actuel de placement en fauteuil roulant, de dépendance, de fragilité due à l’inactivité et de soins saturés.

Nurea : Un post-traitement innovant des images médicales permettant aux médecins de prévenir les accidents cardiovasculaires.

Omni : Avec Omni, les personnes en fauteuil roulant peuvent se déplacer en scooter électrique.

SmartCatch : SmartCatch développe des appareils portables et connectés basés sur les micro/nanotechnologies pour accélérer et améliorer la caractérisation du cancer en routine clinique, en ciblant l’industrie pharmaceutique et les hôpitaux, pour personnaliser le projet thérapeutique des patients (le bon traitement au bon moment).

« Ces 10 k€ vont nous servir à valider les performances de notre logiciel sur la détection et la mesure automatique de sténoses (obstruction et score calcique) à partir de scanner (CT), avec ou sans produit de contraste. Ainsi, le logiciel permettra de simplifier et d’accélérer la lecture des images scanners par les radiologues et les chirurgiens, et d’extraire automatiquement les indicateurs cliniques de diagnostic de maladies cardiovasculaires. » Florian Bernard, CEO de Nurea

EIT Health France allocates an additional €60,000 to a selection of start-ups from its Headstart programme

6 start-ups participating in the EIT Health Headstart 2020 programme were awarded €10,000 each to boost the development of their project.

Last May, EIT Health France announced its support to 16 start-ups as part of the EIT Health Headstart programme. The latter allows start-ups to accelerate their product’s market access thanks to the support of EIT Health’s Business Creation Managers, who help them harness EIT Health’s local and international network for one year, in addition to a €40,000 grant.

On 17 November 2002, six months into this support, the start-ups presented their project reports to a jury. Taking the form of a pitch and Q&A session, start-ups had the opportunity to convince jury members to award them an additional €10,000 to boost the development of their project.

The six start-ups which will benefit from this additional grant are:

Bioadhesive Ophthalmics: Bioadhesive Ophthalmics aims to transform Ophthalmology by relieving patients from the burden of their eye disease. We aim to radically change eye treatment thanks to a Mucoadhesive Ocular Hydrogel Insert which releases drug substance over a one-week period, allowing for higher efficacy & potency.

Grapheal: By combining together novel electronic materials, embedded wireless electronics, software data analysis and medical cloud IoT technologies, Grapheal focuses on wearable technology to monitor healing and improve the treatment of chronic wounds which require long-term care, thus helping avoid amputations.

Lifebloom : “Lifeboom one” is a sustainable model of autonomous walking and increased rehabilitation, enabling patients to take control of their lives and replacing the current model of wheelchair placement which triggers dependency, frailty due to inactivity, and saturated care.

Nurea: An innovative post-treatment of medical images empowering physicians to prevent cardiovascular accidents.

Omni: With Omni, wheelchair users can ride electric scooters.

SmartCatch: SmartCatch develops portable and connected devices based on micro/nanotechnologies to accelerate and improve the characterisation of cancer in clinical routine, targeting the pharmaceutical industry and hospitals, to personalise the therapeutic project of patients (the right treatment at the right time).

“These 10 k€ will be used to validate the performance of our software on the detection and automatic measurement of stenosis (obstruction and calcium score) from a scanner (CT), with or without contrast product. Thus, the software will simplify and accelerate the reading of scanner images by radiologists and surgeons, and will automatically extract clinical indicators for the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases.
