EIT Health Spain announces the third edition of the Jaime Prat Award

• The award aims to recognise the commitment and collaboration of the winners with EIT Health Spain’s health innovation ecosystem. 

EIT Health Spain launches the third edition of the Jaime Prat Award, an honour created in 2021 for the commitment to innovation and the EIT Health network with a double objective: to pay tribute to the figure of Jaime Prat, secretary of the EIT Health Spain Governing Board and deputy director of the Institute of Biomechanics (IBV), who passed away in March 2021, and to reward those people who have stood out for their commitment and collaboration with the EIT Health community. 

 The 3rd Jaime Prat Award is open to anyone who has participated in activities organised by the EIT Health network. This award offers an endowment of 5,000 euros to be used for collaboration and training actions within the EIT Health network. 

In 2021 the winner was Enrique Gómez Aguilera, professor at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and former president of the Governing Board of EIT Health Spain. On the other hand, last year, 2022, the winner was Vicente Traver Salcedo from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) – Instituto Universitario de Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicaciones (ITACA). 

Any representative of the Spanish health innovation ecosystem can be a candidate for the award, but nominations must be submitted exclusively by representatives of EIT Health Associates, Network Partners or Linked/Affiliated Parties. Nominations must justify the candidate’s proposal for the award by his or her commitment, collaboration and capacity for consensus. 

 The award is part of EIT Health Spain’s philosophy and objectives to promote the connection of all relevant actors in the health innovation ecosystem to maximise synergies and cover the entire value chain. Nominations can be submitted until 10 October 2023 through this form. 

The election of the winner will take place on 20 October after approval by the Partners in the General Assembly, based on the criteria recognised in the legal bases of the award, which can be consulted here.
