Five reasons to attend the WorkInHealth Career Fair

23rd November 2022

A talent shortage threatens the sustainability and growth potential of the healthcare industry. EIT Health’s WorkInHealth Online Career Fair will showcase open positions in health starts-ups and companies, creating a connection between offer and demand.

In 2020, the European Commission published an annual report on skill shortages and surpluses in Europe. The report highlighted a severe skill shortage of health care professionals across almost all EU Member States, which has subsequently been further impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the largest community of health innovators in Europe, EIT Health’s education arm is uniquely placed to facilitate the upskilling and reskilling of talent, according to the capabilities required to fuel healthcare innovation.

What is WorkInHealth?

To address growing skills and talent gaps within the healthcare industry across Europe, the WorkInHealth Foundation was last year initiated by EIT Health in support of the Erasmus+ BeWell project. Over the course of four years (2022-2026), the project aims to build a movement of healthcare stakeholders that supports and contributes to the development, and implementation of a strategy for the upskilling and reskilling of the European health workforce.

EIT Health will play a key role in piloting the delivery of training on emerging occupational profiles and input into the design of the evaluation methodology of the skills strategy, evaluating its impact. The WorkInHealth Career Fair will bring together recruiters and candidates from our network, matching talent across the sector. It allows us to support in upskilling and reskilling, increasing the volume of talent in the areas with greatest demand.

Why attend the WorkInHealth Career Fair?

Celine Carrera, Director of Education at EIT Health and WorkInHealth Foundation Chair, commented, “If Europe is to maintain a vibrant and sustainable healthcare sector that can lead in innovation, we must rise to the challenge of recruiting and educating the best talent.”

The WorkInHealth Career Fair will gather recruiters, students, and graduates, offering a unique opportunity to share future recruiting prospects, seek out emerging talent and identify European healthcare community needs. The event will include:

  1. Virtual booths where 20 companies display their open jobs, internships, and other opportunities.
  2. Coaching sessions for students, and young graduates.
  3. Opportunities for one-to-one meetings to get a better understanding of your role in the healthcare sector.
  4. Opportunities to meet large corporations and start-ups working in medtech, biotech and digital health.
  5. Opportunities to build up your network with strong and leading European healthcare actors and EIT Health alumni.

This free event will take place 100% online from 24 – 29th November 2022, 9am – 6 pm (excluding 26th/27th). Register here to participate in the WorkInHealth online career fair.
