Gérontopôle de Toulouse is becoming a Network Partner of EIT Health France

Prevention of disability and innovation in the field of healthy ageing are their main activities

The Toulouse University Hospital’s Gérontopôle is joining the EIT Health Network. Their main activity, innovating in the field of healthy ageing and prevention of disability, coincides well with the overall objectives of EIT Health. Indeed, the Toulouse University Hospital Gérontopôle is fully dedicated to the promotion of multidisciplinary research in relation with high quality care and education.

Their priorities are:

  • To develop research programs targeting age-related conditions predisposing to disability (frailty and Sarcopenia) and Alzheimer’s disease
  • To empower citizens to maintain and manage their health trough prevention actions
  • To implement innovation in care and research adressed to older citizen (notably with Information and communication Technology)
  • To pursue the dissemination of academic knowledge at a national, European and international level

The Gérontopôle has demonstrated its involvement capacity by becoming a project Partner of the Care Campus Project. We expect to exchange knowledge and expertise on healthy ageing and to be part of a network of academic researchers in order to improve the care of older European citizens and prevent age-related conditions.
