New advance for the ‘Electronic Health Record’ in Germany

19th August 2018

EIT Health Germany Associate Partner Gothaer Krankenversicherung will start the trial of new health app “Vivy”

More than two thirds of the German citizens do not know when their next vaccination appointment is due. Around 43% are unaware of the recommended preventive medical check-ups. A new online platform called “Vivy” aims to address this by facilitating access to personal data and creating more transparency between patients and doctors.

Private health insurances: Allianz, Barmenia, Gothaer.

Gothaer Krankenversicherung, one of EIT Health Germany’s Associate Partners, will be involved in the initiative as of February 2019.

The 14 German public and two private health insurances are the first organisations to offer the free TÜV-approved app to their members, meaning around 13,5 million insured people can administer their personal health data in the app, receive reminders for upcoming vaccinations and have access to a 24/7 visual health assistant.

More information about the launch of “Vivy” in Germany can be found here.
