Start-up database launched by EIT Health

28th January 2021

EIT Health has launched its own start-up database, a platform that is open to everyone.

The platform will make the EIT Health talent pipeline transparent and allow users to track the latest developments of start-ups within the ecosystem.

A dashboard will highlight “hot” start-ups and scale-ups, providing a quick snapshot of those to look out for, and users will be able to take advantage of several flexible searching functions. These will enable them to filter start-ups who have interacted with EIT Health in the past using a host of tags, including the programme they took part in, the year of participation, the country they are based in and many more.

The database will provide important company information for each entry, as well as details on; their latest funding rounds, team information and  more. And, with the ability to create lists and save searches, users can quickly check-up on the start-ups that they’re interested in without having to search for  them every time they log on.

Director of Business Creation at EIT Health, Dr. Kurt Höller, said: “This new tool is very exciting. It gives the start-ups we work with an opportunity to showcase themselves, and the partners and investors we work with the chance to browse promising start-ups in their fields. It also allows the public to see how we are supporting European entrepreneurs and businesses to grow and thrive.”

The tool is hosted by Dealroom.co, an Amsterdam-based start-up data and research platform which uses a combination of manual research and automated tools to identify and process relevant company information and insights. The company tracks data on over 1.2 million start-ups worldwide, and the EIT Health start-up databse tracks the slice of those start-ups which have engaged in an EIT Health programme.

EIT Health will be in good company as Dealroom.co also provides its services to governments and several other large-scale ecosystems. These include; UK (Tech Nation), France (La French Tech), Berlin (Senate), Netherlands (TechLeap), Amsterdam (StartupAmsterdam) and over a dozen other hubs across Europe.
