WE Health Module 3: Empowering Women Leadership in Health Innovation

16th August 2019

A three-day workshop in Barcelona supporting female leaders and innovators in identifying opportunities

On 17-19 September, IESE Business School hosted the third module of the Capacity Building Programme offered by the Empowering Women Entrepreneurship in Health Innovation (WE Health), a strategic EIT Health Campus project.

Around forty women from seven different countries gathered for a training on how to discover and develop new opportunities, as well as on the generation of new sources of value.

The course aimed at those who are leading and driving innovation in different settings and functions, thus enhancing cross-learning and networking. Female senior executives and innovators from the industry, healthcare providers, research centres and academic institutions had the opportunity to receive inspirational speeches as well as face practical challenges through case discussions.

Attendees received coaching to drive innovation through intrapeneurship, they learned about co-creation methods, how to communicate better and persuasively, and how to develop leadership strengthening.

WE Health works to enhance women’s participation in health innovation and entrepreneurship by: providing capacity building tailored to women’s needs, exposing women to new opportunities, and inspiring and supporting women to advance in their professional growth.

The initiative also aims at raising awareness of women’s under-representation among entrepreneurs and generating innovative ideas and evaluations that encourage a more balanced EIT Health Community.
