Every year, EIT Health’s Wild Card programme builds two new ventures that break new ground, push boundaries and troubleshoot some of European healthcare’s greatest challenges.
Wild Card programme
Wild Card is the challenge-based venture builder programme of EIT Health, and the two challenge areas that Wild Card 2022 is focused on are: mental health and early detection of cancer. The programme follows a comprehensive format, taking individuals and small teams as participants through team formation, training, need and market validation as well as rigorous stress-testing of value proposition and the offered solution. In the end, EIT Health will invest in up to two best teams with business proposals.
According to Celia Pita, Innovation Manager at EIT Health, participants are not afraid to defy convention, take a risk and create products and services that can make an impact with the help of the Wild Card team. She adds, “through a curated process and methodology, we create new business ventures from teams and individuals with great solutions.”.
Vienna received the Wild Card event
At EIT Health Austria, “we were happy to support the Wild Card programme and receive the team as well as members in Vienna during its teaming phase as a crucial initial stage in the Wild Card journey”, says Dirk Holste, interim Managing Director of EIT Health Austria. For several days and during sessions, teams and start-ups met with professionals eager to join in a new venture. All participants were given the opportunity to meet each other on a series of bonding activities where they get to discover who could be a perfect match!
We also had the pleasure to get the team together with Christof Goetz – founder and CEO at Brainhero – as a keynote speaker to talk about his company’s journey and how they managed to overcome the various challenges of a regulated healthcare Viennese start-up in the area of mental health solutions.
