Fast Track: channelling EIT Health-portfolio start-ups to the EIC Accelerator

Are you looking for new investment opportunities for your start-up after participating in one of our EIT Health programmes?

Thanks to the collaboration between the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) and the European Innovation Council (EIC) you can become one of the 10 promising start-ups to advance to the later application stages of the competitive EIC Accelerator programme.

Under the Fast Track, EIT Health-portfolio start-ups that are selected to participate will be given the opportunity to receive mentoring support from our experts and the opportunity to skip the EIC Accelerator short application evaluation – Step 1 – and proceed directly to the full application – Step 2.

You will also receive guidance on programmes and opportunities that EIT Health offers, which can help you to scale you groundbreaking innovations, attract private investors, and evolve towards unique ready to invest projects.

Why apply to the EIC Accelerator through the Fast Track

EIT Health as a KIC of EIT, a body of the European Union has the special privilege to Fast Track companies to Step 2 of the EIC Accelerator application process.

The EIC Accelerator supports companies to develop and scale-up game-changing innovations. This EIC programme provides substantial financial support with grant funding of up to €2.5 million and investments of up to €15 million managed by the EIC fund.

In addition, companies that get selected to participate in the EIC Accelerator become part of the EIC community and its benefits.

Who should apply?

The Fast Track welcomes EIT Health portfolio start-ups that:

  • Have not previously applied to an EIC Accelerator programme
  • Have not previously applied to the EIT Health Fast Track
  • Are an SME according to the EU definition
  • Own or have rights to the IP (if applicable) that form the basis of the project or product
  • Are already incorporated and operating in a Horizon Europe country

EIT Health portfolio start-ups

A portfolio start-up is a company that has signed a sustainability model contract with EIT Health. To be considered part of the EIT Health porfolio, your start-up needs to meet one of the following criteria:

  • Selected and contracted for Wild Card in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 or 2022.
  • Selected and contracted in the Start-up Rescue Instrument in 2020.
  • Selected and contracted in the Start-up Amplifier Instrument in the framework of Innovation projects in 2019, 2020 or 2021.
  • Selected to participate in the European Health Catapult (EHC) Competition in Catapult 2023-2024 (Israel cohort).
  • Selected and contracted in the Bridgehead Programme in 2021, 2021 or 2023.
  • Selected to participate in Gold Track Programme in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 or 2023.
  • Selected and contracted in VCoE in 2021, 2022, 2023.
  • Selected and contracted in DiGinnovation 2022, 2023.
