a) Innovative Therapeutic Approaches/Solutions

• Biomarkers – including digital ones for early diagnosis and monitoring
• Medical tools improving patient journey and adherence
• Innovative solutions and advanced devices to enhance inhaled drug delivery, as well as complex macromolecule delivery, and for CGT
• Sustainable biotech solutions for therapy and RARE diseases

b) Innovative Digital Health Solutions

• Enhancing patient care and journey experience
• Improving clinical trials: from identification of patients to management and eventual follow-up
• Coordinated RW data collection, analysis and use
• Boosting treatment outcomes and rehabilitation

Post-Challenge Engagement: After the challenge, we prioritise sustainable solutions. Successful candidates chosen based on factors such as maturity of the proposed project and mutual interest may engage in tailored collaboration paths, including PoC development, efficacy demonstration of the solution, de-risking, clinical trials, and achieving CE mark.

Challenge Support:  Receive strategic advice to enhance product developing with in various areas crucial to diagnostics:

• In-depth understanding of the diagnostic market
• Clinical utilisation insights
• Operational considerations
• Effective marketing strategies

Post-Challenge Engagement: Synlab Italia aims to actively engage in subsequent phases, with a particular focus on defining the diagnostic product and conducting laboratory validations. Additionally, Synlab Italia is open to partnering on additional research projects.

This programme is open to:

• Hospitals
• Universities
• Research institutions
• SMEs – as defined by the European commission
• European health start-ups with a solution technology with a maturity level of at least TRL 5 – TRL 7

Please note that participants must become EIT Health Innostars Community Members to join, which requires a membership fee of €1,000.

The participants must have an established and registered representation/branch in:

• • EU Member States: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain.
  • Horizon Europe Associated Countries: Montenegro, Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine.
  • Outermost Regions: Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Réunion, Martinique, Mayotte and Saint-Martin (France), the Azores and Madeira (Portugal), and the Canary Islands (Spain).

During the programme we offer a lump sum of €10,000 per team to facilitate and support collaboration between the participants and the challenge owners. This funding must be used as follows:

• €6,000 on solution validation
• €3,000 on traveling for the Bootcamp sessions
• €1,000 on mentoring and coaching
