EIT Health Validation Lab is a two-month pressure cooker that helps aspiring entrepreneurs from all over Europe discover the business potential of their medtech ideas.
The EIT Health Validation Lab programme supports participants in exploring and validating their ideas, market potential and business model – so they can launch in diverse European markets. Participants learn how to become an entrepreneur, build a leading medtech company and make the right use of the ecosystem surrounding them. They can validate their business idea to find the right product-market fit and problem-solution fit for their innovation.
Is it for me?
This programme is open to Master’s students, graduates, scientists and professionals with a medtech idea and the ambition to start a company and become an entrepreneur. We target early stage medtech start-up teams of two or more people who have a desire to test the commercial feasibility of their idea.
The journey
EIT Health Validation Lab will take place in Delft, The Netherlands. The core activities of this program will be at the YES!Delft incubator. Being part of this ecosystem means you are in the company of top-notch medtech mentors, corporate partners and more than 180 start-ups.
Over the course of eight weeks, participants spend two days per week on workshops, peer-to-peer coaching, mentoring, expert talks, field trips to hospitals in the Netherlands, and networking opportunities. Teams are provided with the right tools to validate the commercial feasibility of their idea. Each week, they will test assumptions about their business model by talking to experts, potential customers and other stakeholders. Organisers open up their networks, challenging participants to talk to as many stakeholders as possible.
The final event is a Pitch Day, where participating teams are connected to investors, launching customers etc. Teams come away with a solid foundation for their product-market fit and a validated business plan.
