Pilot launched on 6 February at Semmelweis University
MatchPoint is a new matchmaking initiative, co-organised by EIT Health InnoStars in cooperation with one of the InnoStars Partners, Semmelweis University, as well as external organisations: Demola Budapest and InCube BCE, a Hungarian student organisation. This pilot-initiative was launched on 6 February 2019 at Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary.
A student of Semmelweis University turned to EIT Health InnoStars with his idea to launch an innovation-focused students’ initiative.
The main aim of this project was to enable students from different universities and specialisations to create multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative ideas that could potentially be brought to life later on.
EIT Health InnoStars joined this idea and co-organised with other parties the official launch of the MatchPoint series of events. The long-term mission of this initiative is to launch new business ideas by connecting creative minds and build a new platform for matchmaking.
The first MatchPoint event, held as a pilot edition for the youngest innovators, took place 6 February in Budapest and gathered around 70 participants. Students presented their ideas to a wider audience and could make partnerships with fellow students onsite, to work together in interdisciplinary teams in the future.
They could feel the spirit of matchmaking and networking. MatchPoint can become the first step on young talents’ entrepreneur career pathway. The initiative is relevant with Business Creation and Campus Pillars of EIT Health: students involved in the initative can feed directly into the Business Creation and Campus programmes.
