Call for independent board members; apply by 23 May 2021
EIT Health is seeking candidates with leadership experience in the health sector in Europe to serve as independent members of our Supervisory Board, which is a non-operational board overseeing the management of EIT Health. There are currently three independent board member seats vacant.
The EIT Health Supervisory Board plays a vital role in our organisation, and therefore in driving healthcare innovation in Europe. The Board oversees the activities of EIT Health and monitors the definition, approval and fulfilment of the Strategic Agenda. The Board also appoints EIT Health’s CEO and COO, supervises their work and discusses and approves strategic decisions of EIT Health’s Management Board. Find out more about EIT Health and its governance structure here.
Candidates should fit the following profile:
- Holding a leadership position in the health sector in Europe, with a strong international dimension.
- Strong pan-European network to decision-makers in the health sector.
- Preferably with board experience.
- Excellent communication skills, a passion for innovation and entrepreneurship as well as willingness and motivation to become a forceful ambassador for EIT Health.
- Excellent command of English.
There is a preference for candidates with backgrounds in digital health, financial expertise in the health sector, innovation/scientific credibility, successful product launch and/or health insurance.
The Supervisory Board seats that EIT Health is currently looking to fill are for “independent members”, which means that the new members do not (whether directly or indirectly) hold an interest in an EIT Health partner organisation, do not act for a Partner and are not a representative of a Regional Innovation Hub. A list of those Partner organisations can be seen here.
Supervisory Board members are elected by the EIT Health Partner Assembly. The term lasts for two years, and a maximum of three terms (total of six years) can be served if the Partner Assembly renews the mandate accordingly.
