She will be standard-bearer of the Dutch Life Sciences & Health Top Sector
Carmen van Vilsteren, who chairs the EIT Health Belgium / Netherlands Supervisory Board, has been named the new standard-bearer of the Dutch Life Sciences & Health Top Sector, a high-profile body established by the Netherlands’ Ministry of Economic Affairs. Effective 1 April 2019, the appointment gives her an important voice in top-level discussions on health and healthcare issues in the Netherlands.
The Director of Health at Eindhoven University of Technology, Carmen van Vilsteren has extensive knowledge and experience in science and business, combined with an entrepreneurial spirit. Her work in the medical industry includes a position at Philips and also serving as CEO and co-founder of Microsure, among other positions.
In her own words: “Offering sustainable, innovative solutions in healthcare and thus influencing people’s livesis what motivates me. Dutch research and industry have a leading role in the field of healthcare innovations. In order to increase the impact on the quality of life of people worldwide, I am keen to further strengthen this position and expand it internationally.”
