OFFER: App available to capture virus data

9th May 2020

University of Barcelona app also uses data to predict infections

A team at the University of Barcelona is developing a COVID-19-related app to allow registration of different demographic and clinical data, and to provide personalised recommendations and feedback. The app can also:

  • perform contact tracing using Bluetooth technology
  • extract mobility patterns from GPS tracing for infection warnings
  • allow crowdsourcing for data donation under the GDPR regulation

The app also leverages predictive models based on machine learning, utilising both national and regional information to predict COVID-19 infection.

The team, , led by Professor Petia Radeva, is looking for potential users of the app, including but not limited to, healthcare institutions, and government and public organisations.
