EIT Health InnoStars @InnoPécs 2019

InnoPécs Conference 2019, the annual start-up event in Pécs, Hungary, took place on 24 April 2019 at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology of the University of Pécs, one of the EIT Health RIS Hubs.

The conference was full of inspiring discussions, concerning the future of several sectors, including ICT. On behalf of EIT Health InnoStars, Tamás Békási introduced the EIT Health organisation to the audience and presented on a number of current education and accelerator programmes for start-ups and SMEs in the areas of healthcare and active ageing.

The event was organized by the INPUT Program, an organization that facilitates local start-ups ecosystem; supported by the Hungarian government. Every year the event gathers representatives from the local start-up community who exhibit their innovative ideas and join thematic sessions such as job fairs and speeches from successful start-ups. This year’s event was focused on presenting the most promising Hungarian start-ups such as oszkar.com and Vimage; several university-based healthtech projects were also introduced. The Institute of Transdisciplinary Discoveries, the EIT Health RIS HUB presented two such projects:

  • Dr. Balázs Gasz (ME3D)- Development of an application helping to improve the training of surgical skills as a start-up in collaboration with the University of Pécs
  • Éva Dóró (PTE-ITD)- Improvement of medicines without animal testing
