Innostars contributes to the European Workshop in Bratislava

On 3-4 June 2019 EIT Health InnoStars took part in the conference and workshop on Trends and Prospects in Medicinal and Pharma Biotechnologies organised by the University of SS. Cyril and Methodius.

The European Workshop in Bratislava was arranged in aim to strengthen regional cooperation including CEE countries with the specific focus on the field of Medicinal and Pharma Biotechnologies.

The event was focused towards a discussion about setting-up a cooperative platform and regional CEE network including research institutions and innovative and high-tech companies in Medicinal and Pharma Biotechnologies environment. EIT Health Innostars was represented by Mikołaj Gurdała, Innovation Manager and Regional Manager North-Eastern-Europe in Innostars, who took part in panel discussion – “Priority challenges in Med/Pharma BT in 2021-2027 in Europe and in CEE countries”. The discourse was focused on issues such as grand challenge themes relevant to Med/Pharm BT, strengthening priorities of the role of CEE countries, potentials and needs of researchers in CEE countries – centralized instrumentation facilities, post-gradual education, networking and support to patents, pharmacovigilance and quality control – harmonization of the legislations and standardization of the methods for pharma and medicinal products and food supplements.

During the European Workshop in Bratislava, EIT Health had possibility to present its best success stories such as Stockholm 3 – a blood-based prediction test for prostate cancer and examples in core fields of its activity e.g. Quick Flu Test, Post-stroke Monitoring Service for Patients and HCPs, LS Hard Skills Programme or InnoStarter platform. The event in Bratislava gave both EIT Health InnoStars and other participants possibility to exchange ideas and concepts regarding to Medicinal and Pharma Biotechnologies. It was also great opportunity to integrate and to strength relationships within CEE region.
