Patchai acquired by US-based Alira Health

18th November 2021

US-based Alira Health has acquired Patchai, an EIT Health-supported start-up headquartered in Italy. This is the second acquisition of this nature in recent weeks, following PhagoMed’s acquisition by BioNTech.

Patchai offers intelligent digital health solutions to engage and empower patients in clinical research and care pathways. Their intelligent platform embeds an empathetic virtual companion which delivers personalised human centric interactions to patients and collects real-world data in real time.

Patchai was a 2020 Catapult finalist, one of EIT Health’s flagship programmes. The company, now part of Alira Health, will continue to advance its technologies to offer scalable and modular solutions for decentralised clinical research and virtual standard care.

Patchai’s mission is to advance life sciences with intelligent and human-centered solutions to channel and magnify the positive impact that bio-pharmaceutical companies, healthcare professionals and patients have on the future of health systems,” said Alessandro Monterosso, Co-Founder and CEO of Patchai. “We are extremely pleased to join Alira Health and be part of their mission to transform healthcare globally by engaging patients at every step of their journey.”

The EIT Health Catapult is a competition and training programme for biotech, med tech and digital health start-ups. The semi-finals of this year’s competition will take place between the 1st and 3rd December, register now to attend the event.
