Deliver activities from the Beyond the Lab: From Research to Venture programme
Support researchers on the journey from research to venture.
EIT Health is inviting consortia of Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs) and entrepreneurship support providers to apply for funding to deliver components of the Beyond the Lab: From Research to Venture, a six-month venture building programme for researchers developing promising healthcare innovations.
The programme is designed for researchers who have identified company formation as their next strategic step and need support to transform research outputs into incorporated start-ups. The selected consortium will deliver live masterclasses, structured mentoring and the final Pitch Day (for two cohorts over two years), working closely with EIT Health, which will provide the overall programme design and management.
The programme aims to bridge the gap between research and commercialisation by helping participants gain the entrepreneurial skills, networks and commercialisation readiness needed to launch healthcare ventures. By the end of the programme, participating teams are expected to have incorporated their start-up, progressed their commercialisation strategy and product development, and improved their readiness for future investment, contributing to a stronger European healthcare innovation ecosystem.
Who can apply?
We are calling for a consortium of two Technology Transfer Offices (Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs) are created within a university, research centres, etc. to manage its intellectual property (IP) assets and the transfer of knowledge and technology to industry) representing higher education institutions or research organisations and one Entrepreneurship Support Provider (Organizations specialized in venture creation (Venture builders, incubators and accelerators, innovation consultancies, entrepreneurship support organizations)) with demonstrated experience in venture building and start-up support.
The programme aims to bridge the gap between academic research and venture creation. Technology Transfer Offices contribute deep knowledge of intellectual property management, technology transfer processes, and researcher engagement. Entrepreneurship Support Providers complement this with practical expertise in venture building, business model development, market validation, investment readiness, and startup growth.
By bringing together these complementary capabilities, the consortium is well positioned to deliver the programme activities that enables research teams to validate market opportunities and establish new companies.

How to apply
- Step 1: Register your organisation in the EU Funding & tender opportunities portal to obtain the nine-digit Participant Identification Code (PIC number). If you do not know if your organisation already has a PIC number, you can verify directly on the EU Portal whether your organisation is already registered.
- Step 2: Apply to the call via EIT Health’s application platform. Prepare a separate application for each EIT Health Bootcamp learning path for which you wish to apply. Applicants may apply for more than one path, provided they can demonstrate the expertise and capacity required to deliver each path successfully.
