CLOSE Consortium meets to map out 2018

16th July 2019

Project group defines future activities in historic Vienna

The CLOSE EIT Health Innovation by Design Consortium came together on 13 February 2018 at the Vienna BioCenter (VBC) to discuss and align activities, responsibilities, and outcomes envisaged for 2018.

The primary aim of the meeting was to specify the 2018 key activities in the complementary fields “Education & Training“, “Market Analysis & implementation“ as well as “AP Design & Clinical Development“. The CLOSE project realises a cross-pillar approach, stimulating activities around the EIT Health innovation triangle, which is centred on diabetes and closed-loop metabolic control for people with chronic conditions. CLOSE is strongly driven by a strategic collaboration and common business interests of the six EIT Health core partners involved in the project.

The event brought together representatives from all partners and work packages who were supported by the CLOSE Scientific Advisors Prof. Dr Eric Renard (Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Montpellier) and Prof. Dr Lutz Heinemann (Science-Consulting in Diabetes GmbH).

As one of the leading international biomedical research centres, the highly dynamic research environment of the VBC was the perfect venue for kicking off the project year 2018.
