26th March 2019

EIT Health InnoStars’ representative will join the Winning Project’s Advisory Committee

The Medical University of Łódź, a Core Partner of EIT Health, has won the prestigious TEAM-NET competition with its project, titled, “We will cure neutropenia (FIXNET)”.

The project’s aim is to develop methods for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases associated with neutrophil dysfunction, that is, the white blood cells responsible for the proper functioning of the human immune system.

The project will be implemented by a consortium of three academic centres, and an EIT Health InnoStars representative will join the Advisory Committee.

The amount of PLN 23 million (approximately € 5.3 million) will allow the university to create a network of five research teams that will work together to solve the problem. Within the TEAM-NET competition, scientific organizations could obtain grants with a total value of over PLN 105 milllion (approximately € 24.5 million) to create a network of collaborative research teams conducting interdisciplinary research. The research will be carried out by a total of 25 research teams in 18 collaborating research units. The results were announced by the Foundation for Polish Science.
