EIT Health Summit 2019 : le bilan de l’événement à l’honneur dans l’agenda 2019

La quatrième édition du Sommet annuel d’EIT Health a été un événement majeur de grande envergure qui a eu lieu le 2 et 3 décembre 2019 à Paris au Palais Brongniart.

L’événement a rassemblé plus de 900 participants dans l’écosystème de la santé, y compris des leaders d’entreprise, des investisseurs, des universitaires pour discuter de la création des technologies en matière de santé capables de répondre à la fois aux besoins actuels et futurs de la société grâce à plusieurs tables rondes, activités, expositions de projets et concours de start-ups.

Autour du fil rouge “Comment orienter l’innovation de façon à mieux couvrir les besoins sociétaux ?” 8 sessions plénières ont permis aux participants de se pencher sur les transformations sociétales engendrées par l’essor des nouvelles technologies. Ainsi, les nombreux intervenants ont abordé des sujets revêtant une importance fondamentale pour la santé de demain :  par exemple le rôle des patients et des citoyens dans la transformation des systèmes de soin, la performance et la vitesse opérationnelle des organismes de réglementation européens face à l’essor de nouvelles technologies, le rôle des universités dans la formation des docteurs de demain ou encore la compétitive de l’Europe etc.

Au-delà des conférences, le Sommet a d’ailleurs fourni aux participants l’occasion de toucher du doigt les 34 projets d’innovation, éducation & business creation financées par EIT Health et présentés au rez-de-chaussée du Palais.

De plus, cette année, les responsables du programme Accélérateur ont sélectionné plus de 80 start-ups pour animer le Start-up Village : une salle entièrement consacrée aux produits et services développés par les start-ups accompagnées par le pilier accélérateur.  Cette initiative a permis ainsi de mettre en relation jeunes entrepreneurs et potentiels investisseurs ou clients.

Dans le cadre du Sommet, l’Accélérateur a organisé aussi des compétitions pour décerner des prix aux start-ups présentant les projets les plus innovants. Découvrez les détails des competitions.

Pour couronner le tout, EIT Health a accueilli le Village Santé sur la Place de la Bourse. Cet événement gratuit et ouvert au public a présenté des projets et initiatives majeurs liés aux services de santé pour les patients et les citoyens (tels que Pollar, Airducation, #ProtectUrLife) en coopération avec les partenaires et sponsors d’EIT Health : Amgen, ICAN, Essilor, Cap Digital, E-Seniors, Unitersité Paris Est Créteil et Airparif, Atos, Mairie de Paris.

Nous avons préparé une infographie (voir en haut de l’article) de synthèse incluant les chiffres et les pourcentages pour illustrer plus dans les détails les réponses des participants de ces deux journées riches en apprentissage et en émotions.

Voici les grandes tendances que nous avons identifié suite à l’analyse des réponses des participants à notre enquête de satisfaction :

• une écrasante majorité se déclare très satisfaite : 84% des participants a déclaré qu’ils recommanderaient le Summit EIT Health à un ami ou à un collègue ;
• les participants ont particulièrement apprécié les contenus des plénières, les projets EIT Health, le village startup et les occasions de networking : 90% des personnes sondées étaient satisfaites des contenus des sessions plénières, le Summit a mis en relation des professionnels provenant de 33 Pays  & secteurs différents (NGOs, hôpitaux, entreprises privée, centres de recherche ;
• le format des pitchs dans le cadre de la compétition EHC a suscité l’admiration du public.

Nous sommes d’ailleurs fiers de constater que l’événement a été repris par la presse nationale et internationale (Les Echos, Emerging Europe, Gloabl Banking & Finance Review, The Parliamet, Forbes, MedNous, 20Minutes) et que les campagnes de communication relayées sur les réseaux sociaux nous ont permis d’atteindre un total de 230 000 personnes et de générer un total de 1640 nouveaux abonnés sur les comptes EIT Health.

La prochaine édition du Summit EIT Health aura lieu à Stockholm en décembre 2020.

Focus on the EIT Health Summit 2019

The fourth edition of the annual EIT Health Summit was a massive event held on December 2nd and 3rd 2019 in Paris focused on healthcare innovation.

The event brought together over 900 participants across the healthcare ecosystem including industry leaders, investors, venture capitalists, and academia to discuss creating innovation that meets both current societal needs yet is future-proofed through several panel discussions, activities, projects exhibitions and start-ups competitions.

Throughout the convention asked ourselves how to create innovation that both meets current societal needs and yet is future-proofed for tomorrow. 8 plenary sessions allowed participants to focus on the societal transformations caused by the rise of new technologies. Speakers addressed key-role subjects about the future of the health sector such as the role of patients and citizens in the transformation of healthcare systems, the operational performance of European regulatory organisms which are trying to tackle a fast-changing world in terms of innovation & technologies, the role of universities in training tomorrow’s doctors, Europe’s competitiveness, etc.

In addition to the conferences, the Summit also gave participants the opportunity to get a first-hand look at the 34 innovation, education and business creation projects funded by EIT Health and presented on the ground floor of the Palais.

In addition, this year, the Accelerator Programme managers selected more than 80 start-ups to host the Start-up Village: a room entirely dedicated to the products and services developed by the start-ups accompanied by the Accelerator Pillar.  This initiative has thus made it possible to put young entrepreneurs in touch with potential investors or customers.

As part of the Summit, the Accelerator also organized competitions to award prizes to the start-ups presenting the most innovative projects. Read more here.

To top it all off, as part of the EIT Health Summit 2019 organised at the Palais Brogniart in Paris on 2 and 3 of December, EIT Health hosted the Village Santé at the Place de la Bourse. To make the most of it, we spent some time analysing the outcomes in terms of figures & data of these two powerful days.

Here are the main trends that we have identified following the analysis of the participants’ responses to our satisfaction survey:

• An overwhelming majority said they were very satisfied: as a matter of fact 84% among participants stated they would recommend the EIT Health Summit to a colleague or a friend;
• Participants particularly appreciated the content of the plenary sessions, the EIT Health projects, the Start-up Village and the networking opportunities
• We captured the interest of 90% of our audience thanks to our contents
• Networking was possible among professionals coming from 33 different countries & sectors such as ONGs, private companies, research centres, hospitals etc.
• The pitch format for the EHC competition has been highly appreciated by the public.

More broadly, the Summit has certainly helped the EIT Health community increase its visibility to its audience.

We are proud to report that the event was picked up by the national and international press (Les Echos, Emerging Europe, Gloabl Banking & Finance Review, The Parliamet, Forbes, MedNous, 20Minutes) and that the communication campaigns relayed on social networks enabled us to reach a total of 230,000 people and obtain a total amount of 1640 new subscribers to EIT Health accounts.
