EIT Health Members Convention 2026 Brings Together Europe’s Health Innovation Community.

The EIT Health Members Convention 2026 brought together representatives from across our network in Brussels for a day of collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strategic discussions on the future of healthcare innovation in Europe.

The event gathered leaders from healthcare, research, academia, industry, startups, and public institutions, providing a valuable opportunity to strengthen connections across the EIT Health community and explore how collective action can accelerate innovation and improve health outcomes.
The convention opened with welcoming remarks from EIT Health Interim CEO and Transition Director Thelma Matuk, alongside Waldemar Dubaniowski and Sandra Gallina, who highlighted the importance of collaboration, innovation, and investment in strengthening Europe’s health ecosystem.
A key focus of the programme was Europe’s position in the global biotechnology landscape. During the session Europe’s Biotech Opportunity: Making the Most of the Biotech Act, speakers explored how Europe can unlock its biotech potential, accelerate innovation, and create an environment where groundbreaking health solutions can thrive. The discussion featured insights from Montse Daban, Fiona Killard-Lynch, and Jack O’Meara, who shared perspectives from regional innovation ecosystems, research organisations, and the startup community.
The programme also explored the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in healthcare through the interactive fringe meeting AI Agents on the Frontline. Participants engaged in discussions on the future role of AI agents, robotics, and emerging technologies in healthcare delivery, with contributions from Alona Pammer and Tobias Daniel Gantner.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in insightful discussions, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities focused on addressing some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing Europe’s healthcare systems. The programme highlighted the importance of collaboration across sectors in driving innovation, strengthening Europe’s competitiveness, and creating sustainable impact for patients and citizens.
The Members Convention also provided a platform to reflect on EIT Health’s achievements, exchange ideas on future priorities, and identify new opportunities for collaboration across our network. Dedicated networking sessions enabled members to build new connections, strengthen existing partnerships, and explore opportunities for future initiatives.
We would like to thank all members, speakers, partners, and participants who contributed to the success of this year’s convention. Their engagement and commitment continue to strengthen our shared mission of advancing healthcare innovation for the benefit of citizens across Europe.
We look forward to continuing these conversations and working together to shape the future of health innovation.
