EIT Health announces Emilie Erhardt as new CEO

12th October 2026

Chad Floe, Chairman of the EIT Health Supervisory Board said:

“On behalf of the EIT Health Supervisory Board, I am delighted to announce that Emilie Erhardt has been appointed as the new permanent CEO of EIT Health. Emilie will join us on 15 October 2026, initially working on a part-time basis to support a smooth transition and handover, before formally taking up the CEO role full-time on 1 November 2026.

Throughout the recruitment process, the Supervisory Board was particularly impressed by Emilie’s combination of strategic, commercial and operational leadership, alongside her understanding of the challenges involved in moving healthcare innovation beyond promising ideas towards implementation and scale. She has experience of leading organisations through significant periods of growth and transition beyond restructuring, whilst maintaining strong partnerships across complex healthcare environments.

Building on the transformation undertaken over the past year, EIT Health is now well positioned to focus on the next phase of its development: sharpening our strategic focus, strengthening the value we create for our members and partners, increasing our impact across European health innovation, and building a strong, transparent and financially sustainable organisation for the long term. It was clear to the Supervisory Board that Emilie brings the experience, ambition and leadership needed to take EIT Health into this next phase and we are delighted to have her as our new CEO.

I would also like to personally thank Céline Carrera for the leadership she has provided through this period of transition and for acting as our interim CEO since July. Her leadership has ensured that we have continued to move forward while preparing for Emilie’s arrival, and she will now work closely with Emilie to ensure a smooth handover over the coming weeks.”

About Emilie

About Emilie

Most recently, she served as Chief Commercial Officer at B3 Health, following CEO and senior executive roles across scale-ups within healthcare, digital health and life sciences. Earlier in her career, she held senior leadership positions at LOGEX Group, Philips Healthcare and Bupa Global, gaining extensive experience across the Nordics, the UK and wider European markets.

She also holds an MSc in Business and Economics, specialising in Corporate Finance, from the Stockholm School of Economics.

A message from Emilie

Looking ahead to her new role, Emilie has shared what attracted her to EIT Health and her ambitions for our next chapter.

“EIT Health has a unique position at the intersection of healthcare, research, education, entrepreneurship and investment across Europe. Europe has no shortage of promising science, but too often great ideas struggle to move beyond the initial pilot or early stage into sustainable implementation and wider adoption. This gap is now top of the agenda for industry leaders, start-ups, universities and European and national policymakers. I know EIT Health has the network, expertise and European reach to help bridge that gap.

I am excited by the opportunity to lead an organisation with such an important mission. My ambition is to strengthen EIT Health’s position as one of Europe’s most trusted and influential health innovation organisations – and, importantly, one that helps turn excellent science and innovation into solutions that are implemented, scaled and create measurable impact for European healthcare.

I want to spend time with colleagues, members, partners and key stakeholders to hear their perspectives on what EIT Health does particularly well, where we can build on our strengths, and where we have the greatest potential to make a meaningful difference in the future. I am very much looking forward to meeting many of you over the coming months. From there, I want us to sharpen our strategic focus, strengthen the value we offer our members and partners, increase our visibility and influence, and ensure we can demonstrate tangible, measurable and lasting impact.”
