Obituary: Jaime Prat Pastor, EIT Health Spain

Jaime Prat Pastor, Deputy Director of the Instituto de Biomecánica (IBV) and General Secretary of the Governing Board of EIT Health Spain, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021.

Jaime was a Medical Doctor with a specialisation in orthopaedic and traumatological surgery from the University of Valencia and a PhD in Medicine from the University of Alcalá. He developed his career at the IBV as Head of the Medical Biomechanics Group, later assuming the role of Director of R&D. For the last 7 years he served as Deputy Director of the Institute.

Jaime had been associated with EIT Health ever since its inception as a representative of the IBV, a founding partner of EIT Health Spain. He was a distinguished Member of the Governing Board from 2017 until 2019 when he became General Secretary.

His tireless work and dedication to the tasks and the responsibilities he undertook, and his cheerful and positive attitude will be remembered by all of those who worked with him. His empathy and good work have left a deep impact on the team at EIT Health Spain.
