Projects to be chosen for Innovation Journey

A one-year supporting program to speed up the emergence of new innovative healthcare solutions

The final selection of the Innovation Journey from Education to Business will take place 29 June in Paris. The one-year supporting program is designed to speed up the emergence of new innovative healthcare solutions on two major citizens’ concerns: Sleep conditions and Real life data in sustainable cities.

This program is a part of the 2017 European Call for Application “Headstart and Proof of Concept Funding” focusing on the major objectives of EIT Health: Support active aging, promote healthy life and improve health. The original aspect of the Innovation Journey from Education to Business is to support collaboration and create opportunities between problems owners, solutions’ providers and the EIT Health ecosystem. This program provides an innovation cycle, where the innovative solutions are focused on citizens’ problems.

Through the Innovation Journey, problem’s owners were trained to pitch by one of our partner Grenoble Management school. Then, they presented their problems during a dedicated event, on the 3rd of May in Grenoble, in front of potential solutions’ providers and EIT Health partners. Startups or project leader with a solution to one of the problem submitted or a solution which address one of EIT Health challenges, applied before 16th of June. At the moment, applications are reviewed by a panel of experts.

Selected candidates will be invited to the final event on June 29th to pitch their solution in front of a jury composed of experts from EIT Health France network and chaired by Patrice Debré.
10 laureates will be chosen and will receive up to 50 000€ grants, which will allow them to develop a prototype and to demonstrate it at the end of year. Through this program the laureates will have the possibility to meet our partners and maybe join one of them to apply together to the 2018 EIT Health Call for Proposal.
