Three days of training and mentoring, 200 participants, regional academia involved and one goal: to learn as much as possible from top healthcare and business experts.
Roadshow was led by one of EIT Health Hubs – Consorzio Arca, which organized the pitching training for start-ups which are interested in developing their entrepreneurial skills.
On 2 – 4 October the training and mentoring Roadshow for start-ups was hosted by the University of Catania, the University of Palermo and the University of Messina. This event was organized as a first step towards forthcoming i-Days with the aim to upgrade skills of local teams. The event was organised by Consorzio Arca, Italian incubator for innovative enterprises, one of EIT Health Hubs.
The participants had the opportunity to become familiar with business topics such as business models, branding, social media marketing, and successful pitching techniques. The training was led by Massimo Ciaglia, a top expert in this field as well as being the author of “The Start-up Canvas” book. Start-uppers got also professional evaluation and feedback regarding their business ideas. Besides this Roadshow, in July 2019 the EIT Health Hub organized the workshops: From Laboratory to the market, in which all participants had possibility to discuss patents and intellectual property challenges in the healthcare sector.
Consorzio Arca has been cooperating as an EIT Health Hub since 2017, within the EIT Regional Innovation Scheme Programme. This is the EIT Community outreach scheme that enables the exchange of beneficial practices and know-how from the EIT’s unique approach to boosting innovation. EIT Health Hubs support regional stakeholders and involve them in EIT Health programmes, training, and competition, as well as in activities in the field of healthcare innovations.
