EIT Health Campus activity empowers older adults with intellectual disabilities

EIT Health Campus’s Physical Activity Leader Project (P-PALs) aims to enable older people with intellectual disabilities to become physical activity leaders in their communities, Dr Mary-Ann O’Donovan explains in an article for frontline, an Irish publication focusing on people with intellectual disabilities. In the article, Dr O’Donovan, the leader of P-PALs, describes the training courses that her project gave in Ireland and Spain this summer.

Sixteen P-PALs were trained as leaders in physical activity. They have now returned to their peers to deliver five sessions of physical activity over the coming weeks.
