EIT Health Smart Ageing Camp at Medical University Semmelweis

20th August 2019

Active Ageing can make a real difference, but needs to be more popularised in EU

EIT Health Smart Ageing Camp is a programme for those who aim to develop products and services dedicated to the elderly to support Europe and its aging population in a smart way.

The Medical University Semmelweis organised the Smart Aging Camp events on 10-13 September and the second round on 15-18 October in Budapest. The programme included four weeks of education and four weeks of validation.

Participant teams’ solutions have targeted customers aged in their 50s and 50+. The products and services intend to improve lives of seniors with the areas of medtech, biotech or digital health.

Solutions can involve self-management of health, lifestyle intervention, overcoming functional loss, and treating and managing chronic diseases.

Semmelweis University hosted the camp. Semmelweis Innovation Directorate with Health Services Management Training Centre and Demola Budapest managed the training’s organisational and professional content.

EIT Health partners in this project include: Delft University of technology – TU Delft, Medical University of Łódź, Medical Valley European Metropolitan Region Nuernberg, Technical University of Denmark – DTU, and Trinity Collage Dublin.
