EIT Health Scandinavia names Erik Forsberg as new Managing Director

Interim Managing Director Henrik Cyrén, who has been in position since September 2017, will revert to his previous role as EIT Health Scandinavia’s Innovation Manager

EIT Health Scandinavia on 3 December 2018 announced that its Board, following an extensive recruitment process, has officially appointed Erik Forsberg as its new Managing Director, effective 1 March 2019.

Erik joins us from Uppsala BIO, an organisation that promotes the growth of a strong and sustainable life science sector, after leading that organisation for more than 10 years.

“Erik has developed Uppsala BIO’s operations and driven system improvements that have enabled life sciences to grow and develop in Uppsala.

We’re delighted that he has decided to join EIT Health Scandinavia and lead the organisation through its next phase of development,” said Per Matsson, Chairman of the board of EIT Health Scandinavia.

Erik (shown in a photo by Jeanette Hägglund) will take over from Henrik Cyrén, who has been Interim Managing Director of EIT Health Scandinavia since September 2017. Henrik will revert to his previous role as Innovation Manager.

“EIT Health Scandinavia owes Henrik a great debt for stepping up to lead the organisation on a temporary basis and during a period of expansion. Henrik contributed substantially to the organisation of the first Think Tank round table on big data in the CLC that led to the high profile RABBIT program, setting up Partner seminars and initiating a new communication strategy amongst the partner community. We are thrilled that he will now continue his excellent work as Innovation Manager,” added Per.
