EIT Health appoints four new Supervisory Board members

We are pleased to announce the appointment of four new Supervisory Board members following their recent confirmation at the EIT Health Partner Assembly in December.  

Alexandra Prieux and Adriele Prina-Mello were proposed by CLC France and CLC Ireland-UK respectively, and Aviv Shoer and Jose Antonio Martin were proposed by the current Supervisory Board as independent members. Alexandra, Adriele and Aviv started their mandates immediately, while Jose starts today on 19 March. 

The EIT Health Supervisory Board plays a vital role in our organisation, helping us drive healthcare innovation across Europe. The Board oversees the activities of EIT Health and monitors the definition, approval, and fulfilment of the 2021-27 Strategic Agenda. The Board also appoints EIT Health’s CEO, supervises their work and discusses and approves strategic decisions of EIT Health’s Management team. Meet our new Board members: 

Jose Antonio Martin, Health Consultant and Advisor, IE University Exponential Learning 

Jose Antonio Martin is a medical doctor (Allergy & Immunology) with clinical experience, and has had an international career in healthcare companies McKinsey & Company, Telefonica and BIMA, along with founding the start-up Miniclinic, and writing the book “Healthcare’s digital opportunity”. He is a seasoned executive, advisor and entrepreneur, an expert in digital health/telemedicine and in creating and managing innovative models for healthcare delivery, has been Mentor/Coach for start-ups in digital health for EIT Health for three years, and is now a member of the Supervisory Board of EIT Health. 

Jose has an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and an MD Licentiate Degree in Medicine from the School of Medicine, Universidad Complutense in Madrid. Native in Spanish, he is also fluent in English with an advanced proficiency in Portuguese. 

Alexandra Prieux, CEO (Alcediag) and Director of Development, Alcen Group  

Alexandra Prieux works as Director of Development for Alcen Group, an innovative industrial family group active in many domains including medical and healthcare. Since 2016, she has also been CEO of Alcediag, a subsidiary of Alcen that develops blood-based diagnostic solutions for mental health. A previous board member of Emosis Diagnostics and current board member at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), Alexandra is now a member of the Supervisory Board of EIT Health. 

Alexandra has an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a Master in Engineering from Ecole Centrale Paris. She is fluent in French and English with some knowledge of Spanish. 

Adriele Prina-Mello, Assistant Professor at Trinity College Dublin and Director of LBCAM, Ireland 

Adriele Prina-Mello is a board member and panellist for a number of European initiatives related to health. He is President of Safe-N-Medtech Clinical Scientific Advisory Board, member of the Nanosafety and European Materials Characterisation Councils, expert panel member to several Horizon Europe, H2020 projects, Scientific Advisory Panel member of several European Commission Initiatives, and now a member of the Supervisory Board of EIT Health. 

Adriele has a PhD in Nanobiotechnology and Cellular Engineering, and a Higher Diploma in Quality Assurance from Trinity College Dublin, and a Masters in Material Science and Bioengineering from the Polytechnic of Turin. 

Aviv Shoher, Managing Partner, IMed Capital 

Aviv Shoher works as Managing Partner at IMed Capital, a venture capital fund focused on digital health and working in collaboration with the Tel Aviv Medical Center, and has been serving as a board member and advisor to a variety of stakeholders in the health field. He was a member of the Board of Director at Moebius Medical, NeoProl, Better Juice, and Integra Holdings, currently holds advisory roles as a member of the FHIR-IL Leadership team and Head of Curriculum for the Israel Medical Association’s HealthTech Fellowship for senior physicians, and now a member of the Supervisory Board of EIT Health. 

Aviv has an MBA with a Special Competency in Health Enterprise Management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a Law degree, magna cum laude, and Economics degree from Tel Aviv University. He is fluent in English and Hebrew, and has a good proficiency in French.
