EIT Health Ireland-UK welcomes Health Innovation North West Coast as a new member, accelerating the spread of new solutions to improve patient outcomes and stimulate economic growth.
EIT Health Ireland-UK, a Co-location Centre of EIT Health, which is part of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, a body of the European Union, today announced that Health Innovation North West Coast (HINWC) is the latest member to join its network. EIT Health is Europe’s largest health innovation network made up of 100 member organisations across business, research, education, government, and health service delivery, working together to address health challenges facing Europe through innovation and technology.
One of 15 regional Health Innovation Networks in England, HINWC covers Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire and South Cumbria. They support the discovery, development and deployment of innovations and improvements in health and care across this area. HINWC has a well-developed support offer for international innovators to access the UK’s health and life sciences commercial market, including the National Health Service (NHS).
By joining EIT Health, HINWC gains access to a pan-European network of healthcare innovators, enhancing opportunities for cross-border collaboration and knowledge exchange. Following the UK’s recent association to Horizon Europe, the membership also provides HINWC with new avenues to engage with EU-supported initiatives and the EIT Health Think Tank, influencing the future of health innovation policy in Europe.
“HINWC has a strong track record of identifying and accelerating healthcare innovations within the NHS and beyond. Their expertise in bringing together key stakeholders to implement cutting-edge solutions aligns perfectly with EIT Health’s mission to drive health innovation at a European level,” said Graham Armitage, Managing Director at EIT Health Ireland-UK. “We are delighted to welcome them to our network and look forward to working together to create meaningful healthcare impact.”
With a focus on improving patient outcomes and driving economic growth through innovation, HINWC will play a vital role in EIT Health’s collaborative initiatives, including its Think Tank thought leadership forum.
Lindsay Sharples, Associate Director of Innovation and Industry Partnerships for HINWC said, “HINWC have had a long-standing relationship with EIT Health which has enabled us to work with many exciting healthcare start-ups and scale-ups from across Europe. Our vision is to see the best health and life science innovations from Europe get into the hands of NHS clinicians. We can help the best that Europe has to offer navigate our complex – and ever changing – healthcare landscape and explore opportunities to deploy their solutions in the UK. We are excited to continue our relationship with EIT Health through our membership of the network and look forward to what we fully expect to be a mutually beneficial partnership.”
