Praça Vida+ wins award at the VI Regional Congress for Active and Healthy Ageing

21st August 2018

Praça Vida+ announced as the winner of the Knowledge+ category

The Best Practice Awards in Active and Healthy Ageing were established by the Centre Regional Coordination and Development Commission in collaboration with the Ageing Coimbra consortium. The award aims to increase the dissemination and recognition of projects and initiatives which stimulate active and healthy ageing in the region.

The winners of the second edition of this award were announced on 21 November during the closing ceremony of the VI Regional Congress for Active and Healthy Ageing, which took place in the Old Church of the Convent São Francisco in Coimbra. The winner of the Knowledge+ category was Praça Vida+.

The event was organised by an EIT Health InnoStars Partner – Instituto Pedro Nunes and the University of Coimbra – in the context of the Campus project:  Healthy Lifestyle Innovation Quarters for Cities and Citizens, which took place from 20 to 22 July in Coimbra.

The aim was to promote healthy lifestyles.

About 300 citizens participated in a healthy lifestyle assessment and nearly 2000 citizens were able to watch and engage in debates and Round Tables on different topics related to health and wellbeing, discover innovative technologies from local start-ups and obtain information about entities, consortiums and projects in the areas of active and healthy ageing.
