AustrianStartups, an independent non-profit platform for innovative entrepreneurship, joins EIT Health Austria as a Network Partner.
Its core mission is centred around community, thought leadership and education: with their community platform, resources and events, they connect (future) founders, supporters, investors, curious minds, ecosystem organisations and policy makers – and enable exchange between them. In addition, the Think Tank activities of Austrian Startups study entrepreneurship and provide policy makers with comprehensive insights and recommendations that have the power to improve the entrepreneurial environment in Austria.
„We are thrilled to partner with EIT Health Austria to foster entrepreneurship in the Austrian healthcare sector,” says Hannah Wundsam, Co-Managing Director of AustrianStartups. „Our mission is to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit in Austria and provide the necessary knowledge and opportunities for individuals to develop their own innovative solutions to current challenges. This partnership will bring HealthTech and MedTech even more into the focus of our community!’
The organisation was founded in May 2013 and became popular for its monthly meeting, the “Stammtisch”, which will have its 128th edition in October. The community has grown to over 30,000 people who can meet in various formats nationwide. Its “Austrian Startup Monitor” study has already been published six times and provides valuable insights into the Austrian start-up ecosystem and its needs.
“AustrianStartups is an important player in the Austrian start-up community,” says Dr. Astrid Kaltenböck, Managing Director of EIT Health Austria. “We are excited about this partnership and look forward to creating opportunities that bring our communities closer together.”
The first collaboration could be witnessed at the last “Stammtisch” meeting on the 24th of September in the Vienna Start-up House. Together, both organisations hosted the EIT Health Catapult Austrian Final whose winners will get the chance to compete for investments, training and visibility at European level.
