“Berrito” – the winner of the “3 Day Start-up” programme

21st August 2019

The programme allowed participants to better focus on health-related entrepreneurship

The 3 Day Start-up programme was organised by the University of Porto and Start-up Buzz (a students’ organisation dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship), in Porto.

With multiple local partners and numerous editions held over nine years, there have been over 350 programmes carried out in over 150 schools. Over that time, the 3 Day Start-up’s alumni network has grown to over 12,000 people and entities.

The 3 Day Start-up includes hands-on entrepreneurship education programmes for students in colleges and university campuses across the globe.

This year’s 3 Day Start-up programme in Porto was powered by EIT Health’s Innovation Days and, over the course of three days (from 16-18 November, held at Porto Business School), six innovative projects were executed, two of which were realted to health and well-being.

There were 23 main participants during the event. The joint-programme included six mentors, half of them from EIT Health’s initiatives and partners. The programme allowed the participants to better focus on health-related entrepreneurship with presentations of the EIT Health network and Porto4Ageing consortium.

The winner of 3 Day Start-up programme was a project called Berrito which converts used festival tents into clothing and other apparel accessories for festival goers.
