Innovative healthtech projects will be showcased at EIT Health’s exhibition space
EIT Health will be present at the 2018 NHS Health and Care Innovation Expo, the biggest NHS-led event of the year, with a large exhibition space on 5-6 September in Manchester. Reflecting the NHS’s commitment to cross-sector collaboration, this event is a unique celebration of innovation, enterprise and collaboration, uniting NHS and social care leaders, commissioners, clinicians, voluntary sector partners, industry leaders and many more.
Attracting more than 5 000 experts in health and social care innovation, the 2018 NHS Expo provides a showcase for the best innovations and newest developments in health and social care. With two main stages, six feature zones, numerous exhibition stands, this NHS’ Expo has the main aim to make the case for change, renewal and improvement in the NHS and social care, and inspire people to do something new and different when they return to their organisations or communities, with the ultimate goal of improving health and care delivery.
This year’s Expo will feature two main stages: The Future NHS Stage and the Innovate Stage, both focused on the potential of healthcare innovation for the sustainability of the NHS and its services, including the role of digital technology in transforming health and social care.
High-profile speakers will attend the event, with keynotes from Simon Stevens, NHS England Chief Executive, Ian Dalton, NHS Improvement Chief Executive, and Matt Hancock, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care. Other speakers include Ian Trenholm, Chief Executive of the Care Quality Commission, Duncan Selbie, Chief Executive of Public Health England and Glen Garrod, President of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Care.
Another key building block of this year’s Expo are its six feature zones, large interactive spaces with their own dedicated speaker and networking areas, allowing in-depth, varied discussion, learning and engagement focused around a single area of health and care work. These include: Mental Health zone, Diabetes and Obesity zone, Improving Care zone, HealthTech zone, Integrated Care zone and NHS70 Theatre.
Being the largest healthcare initiative worldwide, EIT Health has always been at the forefront in the promotion of technological innovation in healthcare to improve the quality of life of European citizens.
The 2018 Health and Care Innovation Expo represents a great occasion for EIT Health to raise awareness of its mission and impact across Europe. During the two days, participants will have the opportunity to visit EIT Health’s exhibition space and know more about EIT Health’s work across Europe as well as its vision for a sustainable healthcare system in Europe. They will also discover the projects EIT Health’s partners and entrepreneurs in the UK and Ireland have launched to foster innovations in healthy living and active ageing.
