Christina Petris new EIT Health Ireland & UK Managing Director

EIT Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Christina Petris as Managing Director on an interim basis for the Ireland & UK Regional Innovation Hub, effective 23 November 2020.

Based in Ireland, Christina will support and work closely with the UK and Ireland’s leading partners in academia, industry and healthcare, and oversee the UK-Ireland team as it expands its partnership base.

“I’m very pleased to join EIT Health as Managing Director of UK and Ireland on an interim basis. I believe in EIT Health’s mission and objectives, and this is a truly exciting time for the network with the launch of the Call for Proposals to be included in the Business Plan for 2022,” says Christina.

With approval from EIT Health UK-Ireland’s Board of Directors, Christina takes over from the region’s current Managing Director, Leslie Harris, who has gone on to maternity leave.

With extensive experience working with key stakeholders in Ireland, Christina will continue Leslie’s excellent work in supporting the UK and Ireland’s exceptional partners,” says Prof Bass Hassan, Chair of EIT Health UK-Ireland Board of Directors. “Her wealth of experience in leading and implementing strategic initiatives will be instrumental as the EIT Health community continues to engage with the new Strategic Agenda,” he adds.

Christina joins EIT Health from Tesco Ireland, where she was Head of Business Planning. In her role, she worked with the Tesco Ireland Board of Directors to define and govern the execution of the strategic and annual plan. She also worked on the implementation of strategic initiatives involving business change focused on improving business growth potential and operational efficiency.

Prior to this, Christina was a Project Director at the University College Dublin’s College of Health Sciences, where she worked with key Irish healthcare providers and universities to support the development of major projects.

Christina received her undergraduate degree and masters in Economics and Political Science from Trinity College Dublin. She also completed her MSc in International Business at Trinity College Dublin and is an alumni of the Global Business Programme in IMD in Switzerland, and of the Executive Leadership Programme in Babson College in Boston.
