- The Health to Market awards offer specialised services for market access and internationalisation.
The Madrid Science Park Foundation (FPCM), a Network Partner of EIT Health, in collaboration with EIT Health Spain, has today granted the second Health to Market awards for innovation in health and biomedicine.
This collaboration forms part of our mission to support startups and digital health solutions that bring significant improvements to citizens’ health and well-being, while also contributing to the sustainability of health systems across Europe.
The awarded companies are 2Eyes Vision in the over-3-years category, and Horus ML and Medea Mind in the 0-to-3-years category. The jury, in which EIT Health Spain participated, evaluated the innovative and disruptive nature of these solutions, their impact on improving health and well-being, commercial viability, potential for international expansion, and the collaborative capacity of the proposals with R&D&I entities in the Community of Madrid.
Specifically, the spin-off from the Daza de Valdés Institute of Optics of the CSIC in Madrid, 2Eyes Vision, has developed visual simulation technology that enables patients undergoing cataract or presbyopia surgery to experience a simulation of how they will see post-surgery.
Horus ML, a member of Madrid City Council’s Puerta Innovación hub, offers a technological tool that integrates optical devices and artificial intelligence to detect atherosclerosis while still asymptomatic, along with other cardiovascular risks, thus enhancing prevention and treatment.
The third awardee, Medea Mind, has created a software that facilitates continuous mental health monitoring. Acting as a co-pilot, the application combines triage, data visualisation, and artificial intelligence to support professionals in treatment selection and patient follow-up. The company is part of a public-private network with Complutense and Villanueva Universities, and the San Carlos Clinical and 12 de Octubre Hospitals.
The Health to Market awards are part of FPCM’s efforts to promote and support the creation and growth of knowledge- and technology-based companies. They are aimed at young health and biomedicine companies linked to the innovation ecosystem of the Community of Madrid and aligned with the regional smart specialisation strategy. At EIT Health Spain, we value these solutions not only for their innovation but also for their capacity to tackle urgent health needs and to improve people’s quality of life.
The awarded companies will receive expert guidance on market access and internationalisation from EIT Health Spain Partners. Awarded projects will also have the opportunity to participate in future programmes by FPCM and EIT Health. This initiative strengthens our commitment to creating a robust and collaborative national health ecosystem.
The formal award ceremony for the second Health to Market awards will take place on 11th December at the FPCM facilities on the Cantoblanco campus (Madrid). Registration for the event will open to the public in the coming days via the Foundation’s website.
