Help shape the future of digital health assessment – take part in the EDiHTA survey

24th September 2025

EIT Health and its partners in the EDiHTA (European Digital Health Technology Assessment) project are inviting start-ups and industry partners developing digital health technologies to contribute to the design of a new toolkit that will help innovators navigate the health technology assessment (HTA) process.

The EDiHTA toolkit will provide practical guidance for developers with mature solutions (from TRL/IML 6 onwards), enabling them to better demonstrate the value and impact of their innovations within healthcare systems.

To ensure this resource reflects real needs, the project is gathering insights directly from the innovation community through a short survey. By sharing your experience, you can help shape a toolkit tailored to the challenges faced by digital health developers across Europe.

As part of its broader mission, EDiHTA is creating the first flexible, inclusive, and validated HTA framework designed specifically for digital health technologies (DHTs) at advanced maturity levels (TRL/IML 6–7). Unlike traditional assessment approaches, this framework will capture the unique added value of DHTs — including telemedicine, mobile apps, and AI — across lifecycles, healthcare perspectives (hospital, payer, societal), and regional contexts. It will be tested in real healthcare settings in leading European hospitals, complemented by open calls to innovators, and supported by educational materials, stakeholder training, and governance structures to enable sustainable uptake.

The project unites a diverse consortium of academic, clinical, regulatory, and innovation leaders across Europe, including: Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Radboudumc, OUH Odense Universitetshospital – Svendborg Sygehus, Institut d’Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS), Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, Goethe-Universität Frankfurt, Agenas, Agència de Qualitat i Avaluació Sanitàries de Catalunya (AQuAS), DNV, Norwegian Centre for E-health Research, EHMA – European Health Management Association, EIT Health, Health Policy Institute Poland, European Patients’ Forum, accelopment, and NICE – National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.

We encourage all eligible innovators to take part and help co-create this vital resource for advancing digital health in Europe.
